This school year and the next one we are going to do a new Comenius Project. Our partners are:

• Templom Téri Német Nemzetiségi Nyelvoktató Általános Iskola - Pilisvörösvár, HUNGARY
• Salda Ílkögretím Okulu – Burdur, TURKEY
• Alhoniityn Koulu – Nokia, FINLAND

All our Primary students will take part. Our project is called NEAR – Nature, Environment, Awareness and Responsibility Natural Parks will be the starting point and impulse for Education in Natural Science and Environmental Awareness. We use the acronym NEAR to clarify our objectives and because we seek nearness to nature in a context close to our students. The added connotation is that we aim to bring our school communities nearer to each other as part of our appreciation of what European citizenship signifies. Our logo is a flower with four petals, one for each word, and four leaves, for each country. Each school will organise visits to one or more Natural Parks and/or Natural Science Educational Centres. We will exchange information and project work via multimedia and visits of pupils and teachers. The Hungarian school will create and maintain a project website to facilitate dissemination of products. Beginning with the study of natural parks (creation, situation, extension, educational facilities, etc.) the pupils will be encouraged to explore their flora and fauna and the reason for their existence with a final focus on environmental awareness and personal responsibility in the preservation of our natural heritage and a guide to good environmental practice.
